Wedding Venues?

I'm looking for a wedding venue to host approx 140-150 guests for lunch or dinner. Restaurants and/or unique locations would be preferable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I just had a brunch for my wedding the Boiler House in the Distillery District. Very easy to deal with and good price points as well.

Our guests loved the space as well.

Sorry for the very delayed reply. Did you buy-out the entire restaurant? I'm looking to spend approx. $110/head including tax/gratuity and alcohol. Do you think that's possible?

    2. Mr. Vuitton and I had our reception at the AGO (it was before the renovations), but the food was wonderrful, the execution perfect and our guests still talk about it now, many years later. I highly recommend it, or at least looking in to it. The best part was that the costing (at that time) was no more expensive than a hotel reception (we had ~160 people), but far more interesting, IMHO.

Hi CocoaChanel, if you don't mind my asking, what was the price point? As I mentioned, I'm only looking so spend aproximately $110/person. The space does look amazing though....

Hi, I wish I could remember, but just can't
We had hors d'oerves (sp?), starters, main, dessert, open bar, midnight sweet buffet
I would suggest just calling them and asking. We priced The Granite Club, Sutton Place Hotel, AGO and a few of the other downtown hotels - they were all about the same price

Here is the link for the AGO's Baillie Court. http://www.ago.net/venue-rental
I would think the AGO charges more than $110 per person for a wedding dinner including appetizers, drinks and taxes, but the AGO might be able to do a wedding brunch for less. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to answer your questions if you give them a call.

According to one poster last year, the ROM and the AGO charge $250+ per person: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/5915...

        2. Hey There,

I DJ around 50 weddings/year & have eaten at most of the banquet halls and through caterers - here are some 'unique' urban venue suggestions:

          Steam Whistle Brewery
The Berkeley Church Field House & Main Venue
          St. Lawrence Hall
          The Design Exchange
          Eglinton Grand
          The Capitol Event Theatre
          The Royal Conservatory of Music

Hope that gives you a start!
