Quiet French restaurant - preferably downtown

Looking for a nice (not too Daniel pricey, but not cheap) French restaurant where four mature adults can have a wonderful evening: good food and quiet conversation. But not too stodgy. Any ideas?

Park Avenue Bistro - very lovely and warm. Food and wine selections are terrific as is the service. :) It's one of my GO TO places in NYC

yes, or Capsouto Frères, or Gascogne.
