Good Restaurant in Luxor, Egypt

We just ate at an excellent restaurant in Luxor named Maro. After two weeks of travel in Egypt, it's the best meal we've had. Maro has fantastic views; it is right on the Nile just north of the Mummification Museum on the east bank of the river. The "set menus" were reasonably priced (around $8 or 40EGP) and included an array of delicious appetizers including superb baba ganoush and tahini. Main courses included an excellent and delicate sea bass and a smoky chicken kebab. Maro was the first restaurant to present us with an accurate bill. As a plus, Maro has a Nubian waiter who's a dead ringer for a twenty-something Obama.

Nice to hear. As you've undoubtedly noticed, Egypt is not much of a foodie spot, though we have had some excellent meals here or there...
