Westchester: does anyone know the name of the restaurant where a group (of diners) cooks and then eats?

I once heard of a restaurant in lower or mid Westchester where a group can go cook a meal, and then eat it, on a Saturday night. I think it was in Rye...

a group of friends are having a sat. nite reunion and I thought something like that could be fun. has anyone heard of this concept or by chance know the name of the place?

  1. I think it's called your home kitchen!!! Sorry, couldn't resist. So, that is something you pay for? I have heard of cooking classes like that, but not a restaurant.

yeah, I know...just cook a meal at home. We do that every nite!!!

what I had heard about is a cooking class/sat nite out with friends, with good wine, in a prof. cooks restaurant kitchen, where you are guided in preparing an amazing meal (multi course)then eat and dont have to clean up.

But I can't remember the name of the restaurant or place where you can do this, so I might HAVE to do it at home:)

I think the late MacMenamin's Grill in New Rochelle tried that for awhile.

    2. I have hosted a party at my house using a personal chef out of Westchester, let me know if you are interested and I will get you her info.

      1. You should give Plates a call. They host cooking parties for kids and you might persuade them to try it with adults. Let us know if it works out.

I should add that Plates puts on a fabulous private party in general! My FIL did my MIL's surprise party there last winter-took the whole place- and it was fantastic!

The 9 and up's have been having a good time making pizza, truffles, rolling pasta, and generally making a mess in our kitchen (not yours, yeah!). Decorate a chef's hat, get your own beverage from the soda gun and dine on the lunch that you made! Top Chef, lookout. We can accommodate groups of up to 16 and can even have the parental units upstairs for their own brand of fun if you like. Contact Ben for info: or 914-834-1244.
