bar and grill in Hell's Kitchen?

need a rec for a place to get some beers with decent bar food. I know about Shorty's but will be in the mid 50's. any ideas?

Matt's Grill on 8th btwn 55 and 56 on the east side of the street.

Just go to Shorty's..its a few more blocks but worth it.
