Davios - Patriots Place - Disappointing

My wife and I had dinner at Davio’s with the hope of having a great meal. As I have been with the Patriots performance this year, I was disappointed. I have been to all of the high end restaurants around Boston (Capital Grill, Abe & Louie’s, Palm, Grill 23, etc..) and the service is always the thing that makes me come back. At Davio's the service was mediocre at best and the food was nothing to write home about. I had the Veal Chop and my wife had the Salmon. Both were dry. Side dishes were barely enough for two and at those prices that’s a shame. We had the Chocolate Cake for dessert which was very good, but petite sized. Wine list did not have a great variety and was overpriced. Needless to say, we won’t be back again anytime soon.

I'm not a fan of Davio's service or food (maybe because I'm a vegetarian) either, but I hope you'll consider expanding your definition of high end Boston restaurants to include some that aren't steakhouses. I think the consensus on this board is that the best food in Boston can be found elsewhere.

The service echoes what I experienced last spring. We ate at the bar and the bartender had a scowl on her face the entire time. Horrible service and a real bad attitude.

I've had better experiences than these. I've been 3 times, and the service has been as good as the Davio's in Boston--professional, friendly, and reasonably timely. I think that much of the food can be very good (not great IMHO), but there's a lot of variety. The wine list is ridiculously overpriced, but there are some great bottles on it if you're price insensitive. It's a nice atmosphere, but frankly I prefer to eat at Bon Caldo up Rte. 1
