Breakfast in Midtown? 3rd & 53rd

Going to be in NYC this weekend for a girl's weekend.
We're staying in east midtown and I'm looking for a good breakfast location for Sunday morning.
We'll be leaving later in the morning out of Grand Central. So somewhere in that vicinity would be ideal.
Looking for comfort food, casual breakfast.

    Ess a bagel is great!! If you want to go downtown a bit check out Penelope @ Lex and 30th

      Is Penelope open on the weekends?
      On their website the menu only lists Monday-Friday.

        Sat-Sun: 4pm-11pm
        Brunch
        Sat-Sun: 8am-4pm

      If you want near GC, try Pershing Square
      Or there is Ess A Bagel 51st and 3rd

        I think the Comfort Diner would work too - 214 East 45th. Quick walk to GC Sta.
