Cuisinart slow cooker - reviews?

I am deciding which slow cooker to buy. After reading several reviews about the Rival Crock Pots, I have decided I want a cooker that will not lose its handle after awhile. I am looking at Cuisinarts, specifically the Cuisinart® 3.5 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker. I cook for 2 every day, but I need the cooker to be taken or used when serving a larger group of friends.

I actually vacillate between this size and a larger size. But have decided that if I get the hang of slow cooking, I can always add a size to my collection of tools.

Does any chowhound out there use this pot? Do you like it? Do you get good results? Any caveats?

FYI, I have checked older posts about slow cookers in Chowhounds, and I've gotten some good tips about slow cooking in general. Thanks!

I have purchased and used this product twice. I did a small pork roast and later did braised red cabbage. Both dishes very good. The cooker is aesthically very nice sitting on my counter as it cooks. It takes up less room than I thought it would, and it has a nice recipe book as well. So far, excellent!

I just decided on this slow cooker after a very similar decision process. I have been using a slow cooker for many years, and I am picky about quality, size, function.... But it matters, and I LOVE this new little slow cooker! The newer ones cook "hotter", but this one cooks like old times... slow and steady, with no burning, no clouding, so spitting around the edge of the lid. I'm so happy, and you will be too! It's just the right size for the two of us, with lots of leftovers. (Get another larger cooker for those other times...live your daily life with this one. I'll probably add a Hamilton Beach cooker with the temp. probe for larger meals... that's a nice machine, too, and very portable) Good luck! (BTW, this is my 1st CH post, so thanks for the inspiration!)
