New Parish Cafe is Open

Opened on January 1 for Hangover Brunch. They had an unexpected turnout with waits for tables over an hour 12:30. They did the best to be welcoming to the crowd, despite running out of brunch items. They plan to serve limited menu for the next few days while they work out the kinks.

The space is nice, with large windowed garage doors on the Tremont Street side, which will be nice when they are open during warm weather. Menu is similar to the original, although at this point they do not have a full liquor license.

Haven't walked by this corner lately, don't remember where the Rent-a-Center was. Which corner of the Mass/Tremont intersection is it on? Heading from the Expressway toward Cambridge on Mass Ave is (more or less) north.

It's on the right as you head downhill into the South End from Cambridge / Back Bay.

It's the corner heading away from the south end (i.e if you are coming down tremont from the south end and cross over Mass Ave, it's on the right, once you cross over) Not the best location, and probably too far for many south enders to want to walk.... I'll be interested to see how they do.

I think we agree on the location, but maybe my idea of where the SE starts and ends is broken.

Kind of a touchy subject. Depending on whom you ask, the demarc between the South End and Roxbury is Mass Ave, Lenox St / E Lenox St, or Melnea Cass. To Comcast, all of the South End is Roxbury.

I know realtors would tell you it's the south end...in fact, that's what they told me, back in 2005 when i looked at a place off of Tremont, beyond the mass ave cross.....and maybe it is. But definitely on the "outskirts," that's for sure.
