Any place in LA with a decent bone marrow dish?
A year after returning to California after 3 years in London, one of the few things I really find myself missing, chow-wise, is St. John's iconic roast bone marrow and parsley salad. Anthony Bourdain named it as his (hypothetical?) "death row meal" and having tried it 3 or 4 times, I can see his point.
Does any place in the greater LA area offer anything even remotely comparable, or should I brave attempting it myself from Fergus Henderson's cookbook? (something I've tried a few times with other dishes and come up a bit short, unsurprisingly...)

I've had the roast bone marrow at St. John's and made the dish at home. It is very easy to make at home, with the hardest part being finding some good bread for it.
I recently had the bone marrow at Charlie Palmer's in Costa Mesa, it was a generous serving of marrow (split bones) with some onion jam. It was very good, though I prefer the St. John's dish since the parsley cuts the fat nicely.

Thanks for the suggestions! Evidently I need to get around a bit more now that I'm re-settled ... I've been to Mozza and F.O. but evidently not at the right times; will try Comme Ca and Church & State soon.
[On a slight tangent, sometimes I wonder if a St. John - type place (delicious, but no pretensions, BS, or customer flattery) would make it in LA. I once heard a St. John waiter tell a B-list model/actress at the next table who'd asked if he recommended a certain merlot: "I think you'll want something with a bit more structure, to stand up to all that fat." Can you imagine that happening west of La Brea? I'd pay money just to see it...]

re: Bradbury
Also, the new Quadrupel Brasserie in Pasadena has roasted bone marrow on their menu. Never been, so buyer beware.

I've not had the one at St. John's, but I think Church & State has a great version. It would actually be the best version I've ever had if not for the one at the Publican in Chicago. Father's Office in Culver City also has a good version (not an amazing one, though) and I've heard that Comme Ca does as well, but haven't yet tried it.
