Chico

So, is there anything new in the Chico area these days?
I feel like we've gotten into a rut with our recent dining excursions. I can't think of a recent meal out that wasn't at Paisa, Sierra Nevada, Priya or Chada Thai.

I know what you mean...it's easy to get into a rut. Anyway, my family is liking Mariscos Ixtapa lately and I liked Spice Creek Cafe the one time i went there. What is Paisa?

El Paisa is the taco truck at 8th and Pine.

We went to Mariscos Ixtapa right around the time it opened and it wasn't great. Have they worked out their kinks?

Well, kinda hard to say, it's not actually my favorite but my husband, one of his coworkers and my son really like it. My husband is a big fan of the oysters which he says are the best he's had, he and his coworker are big fans of the shrimp burrito. My son likes the carne asada and the salsa. As for me I've pretty much settled on the shrimp kabobs. One other thing I've had and enjoyed was their tacos a la carte, think i tried carne asada and fish. I'm not even sure these are on the menu and it's pretty unlikely they're better than your taco truck. One place I want to try is the new italian place on Esplanade near the Rice Bowl but it will probably be a while.
