I haven't found pure glucose syrup anywhere, but I've found lily white corn syrup to be a reasonable substitute, so long as you don't mind the vanillin that they add. It's worked fine for me in both fondant and simple syrup.
I seem to recall seeing agar agar at Pete's Frootique and Bulk Barn. The organics section at Superstore might work too.
