Best Greek in Astoria?

Any suggestions on favorite Greek restaurants in Astoria? I've been to Uncle George's and I have to say I didn't like it all that much- a little too diner-y. I'd love some suggestions!

my fav is philoxenia on 34th ave. completely underrated - a hidden jewel. the octopus and bronzino are fabulous. they also have a meatball special (not the one on the menu) thats to die for. the times did a review a while back:

Can I follow up with a question? My wife and I are looking for a greek restaurant (preferably in Astoria, but could be elsewhere) for a special dinner. We are less interested in price than we are in great, authentic food. Is Taverna Kyclades the best greek cuisine in the neighborhood, or would we do better to look at other places if price is less important?

Pricewise they are all about the same in Astoria. Kyclades fish though is the best in Astoria by far.

try looking at Cavo, it's greek with a fancy twist,other cuisine as well. Also, Philoxenia on 34th avenue/ between 33rd and 34th street and Bahari on 30th avenue/ between 31and 33rd street.

Try Christo's. It is a steakhouse, but it is decidedly greek. I've had some very good meals there....white tablecloths....professional waitstaff....Big tables full of Greek men eating lots of good meat. :)

My favorite restaurant in Astoria for seafood is Taverna Kyclades. SImple prep but always fresh and delicious.

Taverna Kyclades hands down! Inexpensive and delicious!
