Is it possible to post a meta-discussion of particular reviewer's recommendations/tendencies without having the post deleted? (My friend and I previously posted the remarks, now deleted, on Jonathan Gold's questionable Vietnamese recommendations.) I do see the possibility of such a posting inviting ad hominem attacks, which would be completely inappropriate, but this assuredly is not our intent. Gold and a very few others dominate the LA restaurant reviewing scene, and I believe that their influence make them an appropriate topic for discussion. Can you please respond privately if this posting is inappropriate for the message board?

Reviewers rather than chow tips are discussed on Not About Food, (see link to that board). If you want to discuss site policies or rules that is done on Site Talk.

Thanks very much for telling me about the other board, but my post really is about good food and where to find it. I've certainly seen many positive references to Gold's reviews on the LA message board. I really would like to know what readers think, and what Vietnamese places they like best in LA. Thanks again!

On the LA board you will see a lot of votes for Thai Nakorn in Norwalk and Renu Pair gets it's supporters. The hands down favorite to try a lot of food and do it street style is to visit the Wat Thai Temple in North Hollywood on the weekend for all of the food vendors.

And I knew that but totally had brain fade by the time I replied. Here is a link to a previous pho thread if you are interested in that aspect of Vietnamese food.
