What to do with Foie Gras

I recently received a gift of a kilo of foie gras labeled Le Relais Des Gourmet Bloc de foie gras de canard avec morceaus mi-cuit. What do I have and what should I do with it. I'm thinking I need to have a gathering to consume this, but how many people will it take to eat this thing? What to drink with it?

    1. What you have is a block of par-cooked emulsified foie gras with whole pieces added. It can be served on bread or crackers by itself or with some sort of topping like a fruit jelly or sauce. I reckon you could feed 10-12 people if you served it as an app. or 5-6 people if you have a foie gras party.

      As to what to drink with it, the classic pairing is a white dessert wine like a Sauternes, but I'm sure the wine geeks here will have better recommendations.

        1. Not anywhere close to a wine geek but I've taken a liking to drinking ice wine with foie. I find it a touch less sweet than a Sauturene. Love foie, could eat it daily if possible.
