Where Can I Buy Good Stock for Soup?

Velda Mae Dec 29, 2009 09:48 AM

I know I can make it but is there a place in Boston or Metrowest that sells good beef stock for soup?

If you have a trust fund you can buy it at Barbara Lynch's restaurant, The Butcher Shop

I was just at Dave's Fresh Pasta in Davis, and they had frozen store-made beef, chicken, lobster and mushroom stock. I've used their mushroom to make veggie risotto, and it's been good. Haven't tried the others, though. I think it's in the $3.59/qt. range.

Whole food has beef stock. It concentrated and seems a bit expensive. I would it up with some Demi glacé if it doesn't mess up your recipe. Otherewise, make some, it'd not hard, although time consuming.
