Rum Baba in Toronto

I need to know where to get good rum baba in Toronto. It's my dad's birthday on Wednesday and he goes on and on about rum baba... HELP!!!

I've had babas au rhum from La Cigogne and I can vouch for them--they were very good. I've never had a problem with too sweet/flavourless cakes. Pick your dad up some breakfast pastries while you're there--yum!

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves baba au rum, they have a great version at Le Select.

They bring out a little pitcher of run and they're not afraid to let you really booze up your gateau. Fab!

Patachou had good ones in the past, and very well might still have them. Amadeus in Thornhill is another possibility.

They have Baba au Rhum at Patisserie La Cigogne.
I haven't tried it, but all the other pastries I've purchased from them have been excellent (and beautiful!).

I have had pastries from Patisseries La Cigogne in the past and they have been goreously beautiful – some of the most beautiful deserts I've seen. However, the three little cakes I had were horridly flavourless and too, too sweet. I have been unimpressed by their pain au chocolat and their macarons were very sweet as well.

I have given up on getting tasty items there.
