Birthday Dinner Recommendation - Brooklyn

AZ C-Hounder in NYC after the New Year. My buddy lives in Brooklyn near Livingston and Adams and we have one night out for his bday dinner. I would love some current recs. Price is not really an option. Probably willing to cab it around a little, but not too far. We like all cuisines and are well-traveled and both love to eat and drink well.

  1. My two faves: Al Di La (Park Slope) and Dressler (Williamsburg). Al Di La can be challenging because they do not take reservations. Dressler does however. Both are great for special occasions as well. If you search the board you will find quite a bit about these two.

For only one meal, there's no need to cab it. Lots of chow worthy places in walking distance. Closest of quality is Queen a very good Italian restaurant on Court St. Also just a little bit further accross Atlantic down Smith St. is Saul a Michelin starred new American restaurant. There are others, including the Grocery on Smith, Henry's End (American, including game) and Noodle Pudding (Italian) on Henry St. in Brooklyn Heights. Or for a pubby birthday, try the Waterfron Ale House on Atlantic Ave. In any case, enjoy.

Thanks for the great recs. I'll look into all of these. It goes without saying I wish I had more time to explore all the great places.
