Over Easy Scottsdale or Herb Box DC Ranch for Breakfast?

I have a friend who is coming into town staying in north Scottsdale and trying to decide between the 2 for breakfast (or open to someplace else). I love Herb Box for lunch but have never been for breakfast.

Thanks everyone for their feedback. We had a great breakfast at OverEasy and they were also really helpful with my friend's gluten intolerance.

I would also consider butterfield's pancake house (shea and scottsdale)...excellent breakfast all day

I really wanted to like Butterfield's, but I thought it was average at best and wouldn't go back. I'm admittedly tough on breakfast places as it is simply the easiest meal to make and the first one I learned as a kid. If you can't hit it out of the park with breakfast, don't bother. Pancakes, I admit can get tricky depending on which kind you make, but come on, eggs? I'll put my omelets against any in the valley.

Never been to OverEasy but what about First Watch on FLW and Scottsdale Road. Their breakfast skillets are to die for but I don't think I've ever seen a bloody mary on the menu.

I don't think they have Bloody Mary's and I'm not a fan of First Watch under any circumstances.

First Watch is not in the same category as Over Easy or Matt's Big Breakfast. These are small places that turn out great food using the best products available. Both have national reputations and have been on the Food Network. First Watch will never make the Food Network.

The OP mentioned Herb Box which, although I love, is quickly becoming a local chain. Additionally, they said nothing about insisting on locavore or FoodNetwork requirements. I stand by my recommendations for their skillets.

First Watch is a chain. Neither Matt's nor OE are locavore. In fact, OE brings in bacon from Wisconsin because they believe it's the best. Food Network isn't a requirement but it is an indication of quality. Try Matt's and OE and then compare them to First Watch. There is none.

Over Easy rocks. BTW, best low key deal on bloody mary's around -$5. The food is consistently amazing. I'd go just for the eggs.
