Fish and Chips

1FASTMF Dec 26, 2009 12:20 PM

Did a search and found zip.

Home all alone this weekend and feeling like being bad.

Too old for cocaine and hookers so maybe an entire deep fat fried supper - LOL

I recommend Eamonn's in Old Town, Alexandria -- really good fish and chips with wonderful sauces.

Second Eamonn's. No better in the area, by a mile.

Wow. I need to try this place.

If that place near 9:30 is still there, theirs was good.

Jimmy's in Herndon on Fridays only.

Does Flavors do any? I bet they'd do a good job.

Royal Mile in Wheaton does a nice job and has easy Metro access via station's right exit.

          Thanks for the recommendations!

Proximity has me heading to Wheaton.

        WOW, Royal Mile Pub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm happy. The cod melted in my mouth, the batter is light and crispy.

The corned beef and cabbage was wonderfully tasteful too.

Glad it is diet time cause I would have burned an entire tank of gas returning to that joint already!

        Thanks Folks

Glad you enjoyed it! I had the scotch broth recently and it was the perfect answer to the winter cold.

I love the cod basket at Irish Times. Especially with a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson.

the fish and chips at kitty o'sheas in arlington is actually pretty good.

i believe they use cod... lightly breaded and fried nicely. sometimes comes out a little greasy but you don't sound concerned with that (although i am showing up late to this thread anyway)

the fries are fresh-cut and very tasty. they'll give you a side of curry sauce with it as well.

its not as good as eamonn's but is good nonetheless.
