Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice (copycat) recipe
2 c. white rice
½ c. butter (1 stick)
2 tsp garlic powder
½ c. soy sauce
1 large white onion, diced
1 c. parsley, finely chopped
1½ tsp cayenne pepper (3 tsp for hotter rice)
4 c. chicken stock
2 tbsp paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
In skillet, melt butter, add rice and let brown 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly browned.
Once rice is cooked, add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
Turn down from boiling and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is soft.
Makes 6 cups of rice (approx. 8 servings)›2 Replies-

I made the rice according to the above. The only difference is that once the rice is coated with the fat (I used rendered fat) and is browned, I added the onions with the seasoning and continued to stir fry until the onion are transulent another 5-10 minutes then I added the chicken broth and cooked the rice for 15-17 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed.

I went to TR last night and got a list of ingredients from my server....sorry no measurements:
white rice
butter
garlic powder
soy sauce
onions
parsley
cayenne pepper (just a touch)
chicken base
paprikaI highly doubt the flakes are cilantro, i detest the taste of cilantro and would pick up on that immediately. Very finely chopped parsley seems to be the more logical conclusion

re: joe777cool
I asked one for their managers once, and he told me that they start by using white rice, and they brown it (dry) in butter before they add anything else and start cooking it. I guessed that they used soy sauce, worcestershire, and maybe some beef broth, and he just nodded and told me I was pretty close. They also put cilantro in it; it's visible in the rice. I wish somebody would post the real recipe.
