Palm Beaches - Best fried chicken?

My father, snowbirding in West Palm, is jonesing for fried chicken. Any local dives or elsewhere that has great fried chicken?

This is another one that's south of the county line but I would be remiss not to mention Betty's Soul Food in a thread about fried chicken. If you ever have reason to be in Fort Lauderdale this is definitely the place. Don't let the neighborhood intimidate you, I have always been made to feel very welcome at Betty's.

Michelle Bernsteins has the best fried chicken I've ever had. Super crispy, well seasoned, large portions,just heavenly. They serve it with sides of hot sauce and honey that take it to another level.

That said, this ain't fast food, in price, service or ambiance. Very high end. But the best fried chicken I've ever had.

Just got an email from the Omphoy today. Michelle Bernsteins offering an all you can eat fried chicken on Wednesdays for $35 a person. Not sure how great of a deal it is since her standard fried chicken dish is around $25 and comes with plenty of food. However I've pasted the details below:

This subject usually gets little response for this area. I guess PBC is without many fried chicken options. There has to be more than just one rec out there. Fran's is now on my lunch list for Boca.

Alton Brown has a good recipe for 24 hr. buttermilk soaked fried chicken if you anyone is interested in searching.

Frans is by far the best fried chicken I have had in south florida/palm beach area... Although it was better when Fran actually owned it... It is still really good...

Fran's is an old school 'dive' (in every respect) that transports you back into 1964 when they first opened up. Their chicken is old school, no frills, lightly seasoned fried chicken....hard to beat. Fries were frozen variety and cole slaw was dry. Their sign says they don't pressure cook, brine, marinate, etc. or use egg, MSG, etc in their batter. They have 3 two seater tables and maybe 3 seats at the counter...that is it!

pollo campero in miami - little havana; i know its not pbc, but it gets my vote. dixie fried chicken was eh at best....better off with popeyes

It's expensive and not the typical fried chicken place, but Michelle Bernsteins at the Omphoy in Palm Beach has very good fried chicken. The sides of Mac and cheese, Cole slaw and biscuits and gravy it comes with are also excellent.

Bud's Fried Chicken and Seafood on Dixie Hwy. in Lake Worth. Go around lunch time when they're cranking it. The fish is pretty good, too.

I like Fran's Chicken Haven in Boca Raton. Another thread mentions that Michelle Bernstein’s at The Omphoy has it, but I've never been there.

Agree on Fran's. If only they were open later than 8 pm.
