It's not Pasadena, but Cinnamon has tamales on the menu

    http://www.cinnamonvegetarian.com/vegetarian-restaurant-menu-entrees.html

And Yelp has a bunch of choices.

But teenage crisis does make me cranky. Best of luck.

Mama's Hot Tamales, a block from Langer's on the south side of MacArthur park, open 7 days & they can prepare a lot of vegan Mexican food:

You know what I'd do? I'd go over to Tonny's and ask them, Then I'd lard up on all the good stuff they have.

Corn Maiden has four Vegan Tamales on their list. You can buy them in some gorceries and farmers markets (they list where.)
