Matahari Grill

Has anyone tried this place? I'm looking for a birthday dinner venue 1 week after New Year's. My experiences are that most restos, even the top notch, highly recommeneded ones, are tired and not good value that time of year. This place looks like a nice room, appealing cuisine, and won't break the bank. Any feedback would be welcome since my search on this board didn't turn up anything.

It's been awhile, but I ate there a couple years ago and enjoyed the food very much.

Thanks for the links. They were helpful. I was hoping for more recent reports but looks like it's worth trying.

I haven't been there in over a year, since I moved from Toronto to Ottawa, but the friend of mine who first recommended this place to me continues to go in my absence and says that it is still as fabulous as ever. She has excellent taste in food, so I can only assume she's right. I know that it will be in my top three restaurants to visit when I finally make it back to the city.

I have been eating at Matahari for many years and the food and service are still great. This past year, the original owner sold the place to the original chef and staff. I am happy to report Matahari is still a winner.
