I'm trying to find places that might have take-out service for a reasonably good Christmas Eve dinner. I have a friend from out of town staying in a hotel in the Copley Square area. She's sick but I'd like to be able to drop off something for her that's not fast food or convenience store level. Ideas?

how about a chicken pot pie from Petsi Pies (Cambridge), followed by a slice of hazelnut almond dacquoise from Flour bakery? might have to order ahead to be safe

i'm not sure what she's up for but New England Soup Factory has lovely chicken soup.and various homemade soups, chili and chicken pot pies. At the other end of the specturm, Blue Ribbon Barbecue provides amazing hardy choices from jerked chicken to spareribs.

Just came from there because we are having family over tonight. Bought some Nantucket bay scallop chowder and potato Chestnut with caramelized onions. I also got some lobster chive cheese spread. I will use it with the bread they give you for the soup.

Miso soup, sashimi and a roll from Douzo.
