Fresh-filled cannoli on Staten Island?

With all the talk about pizza and Italian food in general on Staten Island, I'm surprised that I haven't really heard much about Italian pastry shops in the borough.

Specifically, I'm looking for places that offer fresh-filled (rather than pre-filled) cannoli. There don't seem to be that many places in the five boroughs that do this anymore, but I figure that SI has to have at least a few spots, being the Italian-American stronghold that it is.

Any recommendations? I'd also love to hear about other standout pastries/baked goods at these spots (e.g. cookies, sfogliatelle, cakes, etc) - you know, the house specialties.

Thanks in advance.

Pasticceria Bruno fills each of their cannoli fresh to order. They have one location on Forest Avenue and another on Hylan Boulevard, not to mention a branch on LaGuardia Place in the Village (Manhattan).

I love this place. It's a great spot to hang out with a cannoli and an espresso.

Thanks for the tip...always happy to find a place to hang with a coffee and pastry.

The issue is often one of time and/or staffing. Some smaller 'Mom & Pop' bakeries only have the Baker on site early in the morning. then he/she leaves for the day. Then the counter staff takes over the sales aspect.. Also, fill-while-you-wait cannoli are time consuming.. I've gotten them fresh filled at Rispoli's and Angelo's, but both are in Brooklyn. Try calling Royal Crowne or Dominic's

There's a Rispoli on Bay St now in Rosebank... I think it's the same family? Also, there's a Mother Mouse on Hylan as well down by New Dorp.

Probably the same owner, but I've noticed that different branches do not have the same items. Hyatt St. is mostly cookies, cakes and a few breads. Bay St. in Rosebank seems to have more pastries. I'll buy some sfogliatelle there now and then; not thrilled with their "brick oven" bread. I can't speak for their cannoli.

For brick oven (apart from my mainstay, Montalbano's) try Moretti's on Forest. I bought a loaf there last week and it was much better than I expected.

I like Mother Mousse too...ever since they started down the block in Stapleton and owner Theresa was a member of the local bike club. That's going back a ways! Too bad they're so far away now.
