K-Zo in Culver City will have a New Year's menu starting from 12/31 dinner and Jan 1st dinner. New Year's is a big holiday in Japan, with many traditional dishes. Strict Japanese observance includes closing businesses for 4 days starting from Jan 1st. I'm having lunch there on 12/31 (no special menu!) because I have to work 12/31 & 1/1 PM shift. I may go back after the Jan 1st just for the O-Shogatsu (New Year's) dishes. My generation just isn't up for the culinary dedication needed to prepare these foods.

Hungry Cat, Mercantile and Bistro LQ are open and doing set menus. Not sure if they have spots open, but you should check.
