New vegan eatery in Ladera Ranch (OC): Loving Hut

This place serves some of the best vegan food in OC. Granted it's all the way down in Ladera Ranch, but I had a "fish" dish that was amazing: spicy, rich, tender yet satisfying. OMG so good. I had a miso/tofu soup that was less amazing, slightly too thickened for me, but I can see how others would like it. Huge portion.

If you're a vegan and you're in the area, I definitely recommend checking this one out. I like the ambiance too. It's very clean and nice.

Actually it's a worldwide chain with dozens of locations, mostly in Asia, but also in a number of US cities that have a concentration of Asian residents (e.g., the location in Alhambra). The Ladera Ranch location seems to stray from that profile, though.

Is it an Asian flavored type of place, or is less ethnically specific?

Yes Asian... one could say Vietnamese. It is one of the many vegetarian restaurants run by followers of Ching Hai.

The Alhambra location opened on Main St. last year.

This is true, it's part of the chain, but it seems nicer than usual. Weaker dessert menu than usual.
