granola help!
any advice on how to make previously made granola crispy?
i expected mine to crisp up as it cooled, but it's still too chewy for my liking.
can i stick it back in the oven? if so, what temp and how long? would you crumble it up? or just leave it on the cookie sheet as is?
thank you thank you!

I have made vats of granola over the last week. My first batch didn't clump like I wanted. When I took the second batch out of the oven (while still hot) I put a heavy pan on top of it to press the whole thing down & left it there for about 45 minutes....voila! super clumpy when it finished cooling. I baked at 275 for about 45 minutes.

I just made a gallon of granola a few days ago and I have the makings of more in the oven as I type this...you can put it back in the oven...I cook mine at 300F degrees for 20-30 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes...lay it in a single layer, not piled up. I leave clumps in mine because I like it crunchy but you can crumble it if that's what you like...put it back in until it gets dry but if yous is getting dark, you can turn down the oven to like 225F. and just let it dry out.

re: Cherylptw
thank you thank you!
this worked perfectly.
i heated at 300 for about 30 minutes. i didn't stir, but left it intact on the cookie sheet and turned the pans halfway thru.
only the cranberries got a little burnt, but the granola crisped, just as I like. you just saved my FOUR batches of granola and many xmas presents!
