Best bars/taverns to go to in a snowstorm

My husband and I love to watch the snowfall in the city in a cozy bar. Any recco's (preferably below 34th st) would be appreciated. Not too interested in something to stuffy, yet somewhere that offers more than beer and would offer decent wine.

Yearrrs ago.... when I wuz young: I still remember one nite when some friends and I found ourselves in Pete'sTavern when it started to snow. We were there til the wee hours and came out and danced down the middle of Third Avenue leaving our footprints. Food has never been a specialty there... don't know if the atmosphere has changed. As I recall we were sitting in a booth by a window. (Pete's is at Irving Place and 18th? 19th?)

Oak Bar in the Plaza. I spent some hours there during a snow storm once and it was fantastic.

Waterfront Ale House is classic. I was at Donnybrook on Clinton Street on Sat night and it was pretty nice also.
