New Year's Eve in San Miguel de Allende

Any suggestions for New Year's Eve dinner in San Miguel de Allende? I have heard that El Campenario is good. We don't want to ring in the new year at the restaurant, so I am not looking for a New Year's Eve package or anything like that. I do know that the town gets crowded this time of year and I just want to make sure that my bf and I are able to have a nice dinner and I want to make reservations soon.

Jackie's is a new gorgeous, delicious top-notch restaurant in the San Antonio neighborhood. Take a short taxi ride from the jardin. It is next door to the San Antonio church.
The menu is not Mexican. It is an interesting eclectic International menu. The most expensive item is about 270 pesos which is $23 US. But most items are much less expensive. The decor is minimalist and warm at the same time. And Jackie knows how to be a wonderful hostess without being overbearing.
A lot of thought has gone into this restaurant, both for the food and the ambiance. I've lived in San Miguel for 11 years and we locals are delighted with the arrival of Jackie's.
El Campanario, that you mentioned, is also good.
If you aren't set on being in a restaurant at midnight, I'd highly suggest that you go to the jardin. There will be a nice crowd, some dancing and fireworks at midnight.

jackie's has added a new 1st floor room overlooking the square. all enclosed and well heated for this unusually cold period in sma. beautiful ambiance too, excellent food/service..same as 'upstairs'. only inconvenience: one must use the stairs to go 1 fl up/down, whereas the 2nd indoor/outdoor is reached by elevator. still by far our favorite in sma. harriet
