Engagement Party Locations in Houston

speirce Dec 18, 2009 11:40 AM

My fiance and I are looking for a place in Houston to have an engagement party- we are both not from here and don't really know of too many places that would have a back room/bar, etc that we'd be able to host and engagement party at. We are looking for something that we could have a cocktail type party at for probably around 60 people at, serving light apps and alcohol.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would check the Hilton's and other upscale hotels. I don't know of any restaurants that could accommodate a private party for 60 without it costing you your first born. You would also more than likely have to have a full meal if you booked a private party at a restaurant. If you would tell us your preference in location, maybe we could recommend a nice hotel with decent food and drinks. There are many here, some very nice ones in the Galleria area and the downtown area.

The Hilton NASA Clear Lake is real nice and has views of the lake and you might can even see Galveston Bay from the party room on the top floor. I just remembered I went to a Christmas party there last year and it was very nice. They can accommodate way more than 60 in that room. It's south of Houston in Clear Lake.

Ouisie's is the first place I would check. I have attended several parties there of the type you're describing. Other possibilities are Nino's and Maggiano's, but Ouisie's would be my first choice.
