Looking for Christmas Eve takeout

bshuff Dec 17, 2009 03:26 PM

With busy schedules and hungry relatives, we are looking for good takeout in San Diego No. County costal area for Christmas eve. Ideally moderate/upscale not $$$, but with quality food. We have 11 to feed. I wouldn't rule out caterers, but this is a small group and a big night. We could be lured out to a restaurant, so I'll take any recommendations for places you know are open Christmas eve. Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you thought of a Mexican restaurant that makes their own tamales? I would buy enough tamales and make chili or chili beans have this with a green salad with avocado and jicama. Serve salsa and guacamole with chips either before or during dinner or both. Serve Kahlua on ice cream for dessert. You can buy most of this or it can easily be made in advance except for the guac and salad, of course.
