Caffe del Doge 2nd location Downtown Palo Alto Caltrain Station Now Open!

It opened last Fri 12/11/09 & they have a new drink called the Othello that layers chocolate, espresso & cocoa-infused whipped cream. Any reports?

I stopped by the Palo Alto train station location. It's a really nice setup, and less cramped than the University Ave location. I grabbed a bomboloni; they are available only on Saturdays. It was meh; it's a below average donut hole with not-so-flavorful cream filling (see photos)

The train station menu does not have the Espresso Marco Polo drinks, which are my favorite.

The train station hours are Mon-Sat 8 AM - 6 PM, closed Sunday.

I went to the train station location of Doge the other day and was very pleased with the set up as well. :) I frequent the 419 location and I personally like the bomboloni warmed up just a bit so that it's a bit melty - maybe you might like it that way too?

It is sad that they do not have the Marco Polo at the train station, but I have found their specialty drink, the Otello, to be a perfect balance of chocolate and espresso for a nice treat too.
