I am looking for a stand mixer and the one in costco caught my eye.It is a 5 quart bowl with a digital timer and has a 475 W motor. Since I have never owned a stand mixer before and do some baking. Any one with experience let me know what to look for.

Thanks in advance.

Buy it! My mother still has her 40 year-old (Avocado green) stand mixer, and my 10 year old takes whatever I throw at it. They are work horses. Wow, digital timer? Fancy. It's amazing what's out there now.

Could you answer some questions such as?

What do you bake? Cookies? Cakes? Bread?
Do you want to grind meat or use the other accessories?

We bought the same one (Pro) earlier this year.It works well. We make a lot of doughs and it has not let us down. Costco discounts the Kitchenaid by $100 or more 2 or 3 times a year (at least it does in Canada) so if you don't need it right away, consider waiting it out. Once you get the machine there are some neat attachments to consider such as grinders, pasta makers, etc.
