L.A Dinner/Lunch Recommendations

I will be in L.A 02/02 - 02/05 on business. I'm hoping that L.A chowhounds will be able to give me some recommendations. Here are some things I would love to try;

1) Chinese cuisine
2) Sri Lankan cuisine

I'm staying at the Biltmore Hotel. I will have a car and I don't mind driving 20-30 miles to get a decent meal.

I would like to stay under $50 for dinner, under $25 for lunch and under $10 for breakfast but I don't mind spending extra for a good meal.

I will be working couple of blocks away from the Biltmore so let me know if there are any places close enough for a quick (about 1 hour) lunch.

It isn't Sri Lankin or Chinese, but go to Phillipe's across from Union Station. It and Coles (also nearby to the Biltmore) argue for which place invented the French Dip over 100 years ago. And make sure you have some of the mustard (provided you can take the heat).

Thanks for the recs near the hotel..it would be nice to have some options within walking distance.

If you want to walk aroun, you can check out LA Live near the Staples Center. It is mainly corporate places, but the area is lively and there are a lot of choices. There is also a Roy's downtown which I like, and the Daily Grill is usually a safe, but not exciting option.

Thank you for all the recommendations so far. Chinese and Sri Lankan cuisine are some of the things I like but I'm open to try anything (except for Italian).
