New Year's Eve Dining!
I am taking a trip with my wife and a few of our friends to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and to visit some friends. We are hoping to go out and have a great time on New Year's Eve. My friend and his family have reservations at Muriel's in the Quarter and we would like to make reservations somewhere somewhat nearby so that we can meet up afterwards.
We are big time foodies and are looking for a place that offers a taste of New Orleans while steering away from any touristy spots that may be found int he quarter.
Ideally we can find something upscale with a rustic feel and a menu that is not too pretentious.
Thoughts? Ideas? Anything and everything is much appreciated!
In addition to Bayona which is a great suggestion, you could look into the Bistro at Maison Deville, Wolfe's, Irene's, Pelican Club, the Rib Room, or Bacco.
Check out this website for some Reveillon menus, some of which are offered on New Year's Eve.
Click the "Cuisine" button.
Since no one has responded to you, I'll offer a suggestion. Go to OpenTable.com, and search for a table at your preferred time on NYE. See what's available, then come back to this board, and search to read reviews of the places available. The quarter's not that big, so almost anywhere you go, you should be able to hook up with your friends afterwards. Personally, I really liked Bayona in the quarter. I'd recommend getting reservations as soon as possible, though, in case places fill up. Good luck!
