Looking for a great restaurant in SF for a birthday dinner

I am new to the city and am looking for a great place, with amazing food to go for my birthday. Any price range will do.

    Had a 40th bday dinner last Friday @ Isa over in the Marina. Was fun and tasty and they seemed to handle a large drunken table very well. Was good to get out of our usual Mission / Potrero haunts...

      Its going to be about 6. I was open to all food. Drinks are secondary

          Range. Delfina. Zinnia, and Aziza are possibilities at reasonable prices.
          Higher up the ladder is La Folie.

          you can go in any direction with this...I've had big groups at Kokkari and it's always been a hit and not super pricey...

          If you have a large enough group, there's a private room at Spruce that's really nice...although it would be a set menu at $75 or $85 per person (before alcohol).

                i didn't say i didn't believe they had one, i know they have one, i was just wondering if anyone knew what part of the restaurant it was in

                  most importantly is going to be the number of people in your party (and with that, the higher the number, the harder it will be to find amazing food)
