Yet another transplant ~ help with casual eats near Aventura
Husb took a transfer to N Miami and the past few weeks of house hunting has afforded some fantastic fine dining opportunities in S Florida. We are finally settled and are ready to explore some casual spots that offer great food and a comfortable atmosphere.
I love to sit at the bar and eat, so a neighborhood pub would be fantastic. We are thrilled with the prospect of fresh seafood and tropical flavors, as we've been on the New Orleans fish fry diet for some years.
Any great spots that might offer a mid-priced menu with better than average food near N. Miami? Any ethnicity is great. Not interested in big chains or super kid friendly spots. Just don't enjoy those much. Thanks in advance!

Here's a helpful fairly recent thread ->
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/660661Hiro's Yakko-San, Timo, Gourmet Diner, Petit Rouge are all very good and not very pricey. Yakko-San has sushi bar style bar seating as well as tables. We always eat in the bar area at Timo unless with a large group. I also recently went to El Tamarindo in Hallandale and enjoyed their pizza.
You can also head south from Aventura to the North Beach area (I know, confusing) where there are many casual options ->
