Large bags of flour

Leslieville Dec 14, 2009 08:09 AM

I have a friend who is looking for larger than usual size bags of flour for her Christmas baking. I figure if I can find where they are available I will be repaid with some goodies!!! Anybody know where I can find 5kg. or so bags? The brand is not important to her.

Great deal right now at Lucky Moose on Dundas (just a few blocks east of Spadina) - 5kg bags of Mr. Goudas all-purpose flour for $5.99. Maybe a bit out of the way though if you're in Leslieville.

Thanks for the responses. my friend has not seen 10 lb. bags in the grocery stores near her, only small ones. Costco is a great idea if you have a membership, not quite so good if you don't. Someone told me Price Chopper had big bags so I will try there.

Sounds like your friend is shopping in convenience stores because all grocery stores i have been to offer at least 10 lb bags.

Thanks for your help Crispyskin, although I doubt very much that my friend has been"shopping in convenience stores".In her past she has owned a restaurant in Picton and taught cooking and life style courses. She can hardly cook for less than a crowd! I will check No Frills as suggested, it is indeed in my neighbourhood.

No Frills on Carlaw had large bags when I checked last. Your screen name suggests that may be relatively close to you.
