Best price for soda siphon?

Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table charge $70. Anybody seen one for under $50 (which is the lowball online price with shipping)?

I got a nice metal mesh one from Williams-Sonoma a few years back, and while the design is a gorgeous classic, the mechanism hasn't been as reliable and leak free as I would like. I think the more modern ISI ones are more reliable.

More importantly, good prices on soda charges (food grade O2 capsules)? I buy them online for about $8 per 10, but I think bevmo is $12.

Bevmo might undercut WS and SlT on the siphons themselves; I don't know if they're all the way down to $50. For a basic siphon, it seems ISI has cornered the market, so it's a commodity.

I've found the secret to good soda water is charging it, then letting it sit and chill for a few hours. Right out of the siphon the water is very disappointing, which I suspect has lead to many people's disappointment with the entire regime.

We're happy with our bottom of the line Soda Club model. No reason to go more expensive. If you drink soda water in quantity, this is definitely better than getting a siphon with the tiny cartridges. http://www.sodastreamusa.com/Fountain...
We no longer buy sparkling water. We're sending a lot less to be recycled too.

Here here. We've had a Soda Club (now Soda Stream) for three years and this little machine has changed my life. I drink seltzer constantly and feel much better about exchanging tanks of gas than tossing little cartridges or plastic bottles.

They even sell tonic syrup so they've got my cocktails covered too. Not as sexy as the steel bottle, I'll concede, but really cost effective. And I love the Cran Raspberry syrup...

I'll third Soda Club. We've been using it for years, it works out to under twenty-five cents a liter, it's efficient and reliable, and refills are home-delivered.
