Ghanaian or West African caterers in the greater LA area

Greetings fellow chowhounds! I am getting married in LA this spring and was hoping to work with a Ghanaian caterer for the reception because I love Ghanaian food. Any suggestions for Ghanaian caterers or restaurants? I think I would even be willing work with a caterer that did other types of West African food. Thank you very much for your help, and Happy Holidays!

  1. the Ghanian restaurant Nana and Naa came highly recommended.
here is the link to the blog with pictures and description:

although their restaurant is now closed,
the restaurant's old phone number used to get forwarded and i'm hoping that it still does.

    1. I am not aware of any Ghanaian caterers. Restaurants; yes. Experienced caterers; no. I do know that Meals by Genet is an excellent Ethiopian restaurant and also provides highly respected catering services. In fact, catering was Genet Agonafer's primary line of business. The restaurant was originally opened to provide extended professional kitchen facilities to support her catering business.

      You will not be disappointed.

      1. I heard talk of Nana and Naa reopening...I hope they do because I'd like to taste their food. But there is also Calabash Fingerlicks in Gardena (or Hawthorne...I think it's somewhere on the border). Well they're located on Crenshaw Blvd. It's mostly Nigerian food but the west Africans in my area in general like it a lot.

        1. We recently had a tasty Nigerian lunch at Veronica's Kitchen (Inglewood location). We went on a Sunday and there was a large catering order that someone came and picked up. The LA Times had a review and phone numbers of both the Inglewood and Van Nuys locations:
