I don't know if Buon Italia does have them, but they might.

They're also available at the 4th street Food Co-op, located between Cooper Square and 2nd avenue; considering that California almonds are basically dead (pasteurized even when sold as "raw") they're basically non-nutritive and not worth buying.

The 4th street Food Co-Op has different membership levels and also sells to the public.

That's not quite true. I prefer that my almonds not be pasteurized but even so, I've sprouted them. The flash pasteurization doesn't seem to have done them any harm. However, truly raw almonds can be bought online direct from growers in California and they taste a lot better than the run of the mill (I suspect they're non-hybridized).
Thanks for the tip--I love Valencia almonds and would very much like to try Sicilan. I was unaware of the co-op's existence.

And I got my almonds. They're excellent but I think I preferred the Valencia almonds that Trader Joe's had last year and have since discontinued (damn it). However, these are certainly wonderful, sprout very quickly, and make excellent almond milk.
