New TLC show about Pit masters

Has anyone seen this new show on Thursdays?? I saw the first episode and thought it was pretty bad. Majority of the pitmasters are not very like-able and how many times can we say the word "ass" on TV as in "I don't care how he BBQs I'll beat his ass in Competition"
These people are trying WAY too hard. Disgraceful.

I agree with other people. Most of the competetors are completely unlikeable.

Other than that, it was pretty bad.

I watched an episode a few weeks ago and found it really boring, other than the hapless Paul. Last night I watched an episode taped at the American Royal competition in Kansas City, and there was an exquisite scene where Tuffy is literally crying into his sauce after forgetting to put sauce on his pork. It reminded one of Fellini. A+, would watch again!

I also find it asinine to call someone a "pit master" just because s/he BBQs.

I have been in competition bbq for a couple of years. Some are nice and lots are nasty, just the way it is.

These people are in their 50's and 60's and act like it's high school all over again. Unfortunate indeed.

I finally got to watch this show, I won't be putting it on a schedule or timer. I thought they were friendlier with each other and had fun during these competions but some seem to be just plain mean.

Watched it last night. A few of the contestants seemed like nice people but some of them did not. It seemed like the cook-off should have been help in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

This is ok for a one off show, but there's only so far you can push the same thing...

I agree. I watched it and thought it was way over the top. I think the producers are trying to hard; therefore, making the people try way too hard. I won't be watching subsequent episodes.

I fell asleep listening to this show (tv was on but not watching) and got the same impression as you.

Well I watched the second episode- I know I said I wouldn't, but I did-nothing else was on. And it was worse than the first.
