Buche de Noel in OC?

DC Chowhound headed home (Irvine) for Xmas and wondering where/whether I can find a good Buche de Noel in the vicinity. Not exactly something I want to carry on a plane!!

Any recommendations?

Boulangerie Pierre + Patisserie makes a good Buche Noel too. Located in Little Saigon area near Brookhurst and Hazard.

Not sure but 85 Degrees in Irvine could possibly be making a Buche Noel also.

My family has been purchasing them from Song Long Bakery in Westminister for years. I love it. Also good is Final Touch Bakery, but you might pay more for a buche that's just as good.

Thanks! Since we're flying into Long Beach, Westminster's on our way home. If I stop in before noon on the Monday before Xmas (the 21st), are they likely to have buche or is it a special order kind of thing?

          Order it ahead of time.

I agree with Das Ubergeek. Best to order it ahead of time to assure your chances of scoring one. Song Long might have extras for sale, but I don't believe Final Touch would have any extras for sale. Mocha is a traditional, tasty, and popular flavor...if you like coffee.
