looking for KEY LIME PIE in Fort Lauderdale (Sunrise) area

I visit my mom in Fort Lauderdale a few times a year and would like to find good (GREAT would be better) KEY LIME PIE. Thoughts?

    I have always loved the KLP at Calypso Restaurant on Cypress Road in Pompano. As a
    "bonus", just about anything you eat before dessert will be awesome too. :=)

      I'm sure their pies are great, but be aware that they're made of pre-made pie mix (there are usually buckets of it sitting amongst the displays...)

      Not that I expected them to squeeze a bunch of limes at the volume of business they do, but I'll never buy a pie full of HFCS and preservatives when I can make one from a handful of ingredients.

        Bob Roth's New River Groves, on Griffin Road in Davie, makes great pies. In fact, their pies are what convinced the State of Florida to make the key lime pie the official state dessert. While you're there, try the banana cream or chocolat cream, as well -- equally delicious!
