Frank Pepe's Manchester

Stopped in for lunch on Sat and had a great pizza. I'm always leery of "branch offices" but these guys are doing a great job.

I went to Pepe's in Manchester yesterday and had a clam pie and tomato mozz with sausage. Both were excellent and just as good as the original in New Haven. We had to wait 30 minutes for the pies as (we were informed prior to ordering) the oven had to come back to proper temp after a busy lunch rush. We didn't care, it was worth the wait!

Eaten there many times. This is just as good as the original without the attitude of the staff at the original.

The pizza looks just like what the New Haven place produces. That is scarily close to Boston. ROAD TRIP!

Not sure how you gauge "close"....I grew up in Manchester. It's a good hour and a half to Boston from there...*if* there is no traffic. I'm not sure the pizza is that good to warrant the drive.....and not sure about Noacks...isn't that in Meriden, which is half-way between Manchester and New Haven....

Given the fact I've considered driving to New Haven only to get pizza, yeah, that's close.

Why anyone would presume to tell another what it "close" is beyond me. But, yes, the pizza at Pepe's in Manchester is as good as in New Haven, in my opinion. So if Alcachofa wants to reduce his drive time by ~33%, he's the only one to judge.

Yeah, I was wrong. I was thinking Manchester was on the other side of Meriden. Oh well - go there anyhow! - it's worth the drive, a candy store for carnivores.
