I was wondering about that spelling - hey, Afrikaans! Is boerewors very different from Dutch boerenworst?
bigfellow, I've never had boerewors (boerenworst, yes, in Netherlands and Belgium) but googling it there are a lot of sausage-making recipes for it, as you are a chef, after all. This could be an innovation here!
Where can one find boerewors in Ottawa?

Good boerewors are hard to find. Is there an ex-pat community in Montreal? Maybe they have some info?

re: bigfellow
Well then Betsy's Boerewors in Edmonton might be a decent option. Haven't tried myself but they've received positive reviews from some trusted bloggers and they ship cross-canada. http://betsysboerewors.com/

Thank you! I've lots of friends from SA and ZIM. None of them know of a place. Betsy of Betsy's Boerewors in Edmonton used to live in NDG when they first came to Canada. They usually won't ship boerewors this time of year because of the delayed travel time. They might defrost. But I have a pilot friend who will bring them for me. Betsy will have them at the airport for him.
