Looking for a Foodie spot in the Village or Soho, we'll be with a couple kids....any ideas?

We're off to NYC this weekend. We want a tasty dinner. We can go early, 5 or 6 pm. and we'd like to find a foodie type of place that won't be too stuffy or slow. I can be almost any cuisine.

Any ideas?

Otto is both foodie and kid friendly. Not at all stuffy or slow. Even if you are going early I would reccomend reservations.

Blue Ribbon Brasserie. Kids can have fried chicken. Yerba Buena Perry Street.
