Great lunch place in midtown

A rare occasion where price-is-not-much-of-an-object. I'd like to try a new place, but something on the level of Marea. Newer place is better as my luncheon companion has been to all the old faves (e.g., Jean Georges)

Any ideas? All input very much appreciated!

Not new at all, but the best restaurant in the area is Le Bernardin. Marea doesn't even come close IMO. I think Le Bernardin is considerably better than Jean Georges as well, especially if you like seafood.

Perhaps Alto or The Modern? They aren't new either but they're great.

Oceana just got moved to the Rockefeller Center Area. It focuses on seafood just like Marea.

I highly recommend Seasonal Restaurant & Wine Bar, on 58th, b/t 6th & 7th. Something of a "hidden gem," it's been open for a year and was just awarded a Michelin star. The cuisine is superb, service is amiable and professional, and the ambiance is very pleasant.
